life only gets better from here

i want to write a message of hope. as much as i like writing the saddest, most depressing things, i also want to write the most hopeful of things. because if i can share my pain, then i can inspire joy too.

life will get better from here. life will only get better from here. and when you’re there, you won’t realize it until 1 week, 2 months, maybe even a year later. maybe you’ll realize it when you lose everything or when you have everything you were not looking for but needed. i do hope it’s the latter rather than the former for your sake.

all you know now is a home filled with screaming matches wrestling for a win or even, a one-sided boxing match. or it is a complete total silence that leaves your ears itching, so you turn on the television so loud that the neighbors know you.

all you know now are friends who are nothing but inanimate objects. or they are friends who leave you wondering often: what’s the thin line between friends and enemies?

all you know now is your tears are only meant to be shed in the dark, on the toilet seat, or under the blanket.

all you know now is lonely dinners with a microwaved meal you bought from the convenience store, too ashamed to eat alone with fellow strangers.

but life will only get better from here.

one day you’ll come home without fear of putting down your shoes too loud or looking to fill the silence with anything but your thoughts.

one day you’re rushing home, not because you’re afraid of consequences and punishments, but because there is someone waiting for you to love you and be loved by you.

one day, you’ll clink glasses with your friends, cheering in celebration, knowing that they’ll be there with you in the lowest of lows.

one day, you’ll cry your hearts out in the open, knowing that pain is temporary and this too shall pass, and the people in your life will not run away from your sobs.

one day, you’ll know you’re loved and you have always been loved.

I enjoy walking around, getting lost in more ways than one, and writing about it.
